WEEK 1-2 : Building Acadmic and Personal Goals
BHAG: Become a successful doctor in the medical field who changes the loves of the people he encounters.
What drives my BHAG: The sacrifices my parents made for me are the primary reason I want to pursue a career in the medical field.
Why: Doctors are symbols of hope, and I want to be this symbol for people to change/save their lives for the better.
How: I will strive to always succeed in school in order to hopefully be admitted into medical school and then to become a doctor.
What: Once I become a doctor, I will use my skills and knowledge to positively impact my community by helping both in the hospital environment and in my own family.
Long Term Goals: As a LU student, I will take advantages of all of the opportunities available including organizations, STAR Services, and research opportunities to further advance my knowledge in school and medicine. Additionally, I want to excel in school maintaining all A's and creating bonds that will transition into adulthood once I have a family of my own.

WEEK 3-4 : Developing a Research Agenda
-
My specific area of interest is Biology with a concentration in Pre-Medicine. I am considering conducting my research in the Biology or Psychology department.
-
One of the main challenges I will face is balancing my work and extracurricular activities both at Lamar and in my community. My main focus is always on my studies, but I have to manage my stress levels while studying for tests such as the MCAT and building relationships in my organizations outside of school.
-
I am currently involved in AMSA, MedLife, Honor Student Association, and the HSA's intramural volleyball team. I also hope to join the Lamar Ambassadors and find a menor to accomplish undergraduate research.

WEEK 5-6 : Becoming a Self-Differentiated Leader
-
I will know if I am a successful leader when my friends and classmates begin to recognize the changes I have made within my organizations and at Lamar. I will strive to make an impact at Lamar by leaving behind positive effects that will benefit future individuals who attend Lamar University. I want these future leaders to have the resources to succeed in their field which means it must begin by someone deciding to speak up.
-
The barriers holding me from becoming a leader is my concern to "fit in" to the social norms. Self-differentiated leaders should hold firm on their beliefs, but unfortunately I succumb to others beliefs in order to not feel abandoned and feel accepted by others. Nevertheless, I have begun to stand my ground in order to develop the skills to feel and appear as a leader in my community.
